Every single time I get into my '98 coupe and put the key in the ignition the driver's seat will move slightly. Sometimes it is forward, sometimes it is backward, and occassionally it is up or down. A few times it has even done a combination of a forward/backward and an up/down movement.
It is always based on the key being put into the ignition and has nothing to do with the key fob. I do not have the easy entry/exit feature turned on. What is causing this, and how do I fix it?
c5streak: The only code my car ever has is one for the HVAC. Interestingly enough, whenever I clear that code (B0363H) I can hear something inside the dash buzz for a moment and the code comes right back ... LOL! Otherwise, there are no codes at all.

That's probably a blend door actuator motor with a busted plastic gear.
Try running your seat full forward/backward and then up/down a few times. Maybe the seat module will relearn where the stops are. A shot in the dark, but you never know.

thats can sometimes be the outside temp sensor or inside temp sensor disconnected. i forgot to reconnect one of these and kept getting codes for the hvac and get that noise in the dash of moving parts and vaccum being released
I have a 97 that has so many wierd electrical issues I cant even really begin.
As much as I hate to say it, if you don't want to gut the thing looking for the short or bad connector, selling it is probably the best advice on here.

I have already tried this, and it didn't make a difference.

I bought the car used, and it does have the memory seating.

HAHAHAHA! There seems to be a common theme appearing here. I already have an '01 (a Z06), so I'm happy keeping this '98 coupe as a daily driver.
Who else wants to take a stab at diagnosing this issue?
From: Ponderables, yes. My opinion, not totally. Preaching...I don't have a pulpit. Fact and generalizations about what I am reading on behalf of what you tell me...absolutely.

Not me, for sure...
I have the opposite problem...motor doesn't move the seat barely at all!
I had denim seat covers that when I sat down the holes around the adjustments would tighten and move forward.
Check the grounds to the switch in the seat and in the door panel, make sure you have good power to the switches also. In my experience electrical issues=grounding issues.
