I have a McLeod Aluminum Flywheel. You can get them at T.Byrne Motorsports. I know it weighs 8 lbs less than the stock steel flywheel. I dont remember how much the OEM flywheel weighs. It made a big diff on my car after installing it. :yesnod:
Re: Looking for a Lightweight Flywheel (NewVetteLover)
By lightening up the flywheel the engine can spool up the RPM's faster. This type of mod is only good for an M6/M12. You can buy yourself a TQ converter for your car!! :)
Re: Looking for a Lightweight Flywheel (John Shiels)
The fidanza lightweight aluminum flywheel is excellent. I have one on my 98 Camaro M6 and the engine revs noticeably quicker. Engagement is no more difficult than stock.
Re: Looking for a Lightweight Flywheel (99 Corvette)
A4's dont have a flywheel of this type. You cant install an Aluminum Flywheel on an automatic transmission. Take a look at an automotive book that explains the diff between the transmission types and you will understand what I mean.
Re: Looking for a Lightweight Flywheel (Fast_Toys)
My flywheel weighs 8 lbs less than stock and it is a considerable difference to engage this unit over the OEM flywheel. So you are saying that yours weighs 1/2 as much as the OEM unit and it engages the same?
