Left front turn signal keeps blowing. It happens every couple of months. The right one has yet to blow since I've owned the car. (about a year) Anyone know what this could be, or how to track it down?
Also rear speakers don't work. They crackle sometimes and sometimes only the right plays real low. I've removed them and checked the connections. Speakers seem in good shape and are connected. My radar detector is connected to the center console cig. lighter and sometimes when you move the outlet a little, the rear speakers crackle with it.
How can I chase this problem down? Is the interior easy to remove or am I looking at a very long day?
The turn signal DRL fixtures tends to crack from the heat of the bulb over time letting water drip in and hit the bulb, making it pop. Take the DRL fixture out and check it and if so just epoxy something like a piece of plastic over the top of it to seal the area up. ...or just go to the auction site and order a new clear set for around $70. I also swapped my bulbs out with LEDS to cut down on the heat.
turn signal fix: Buy a "christmas tree" plug (like what holds your hood liner on). Cut off the plug part of it so you are left with just a round disc. Put superglue, liquid nails, caulk, whatever, around the edge of the disc.
Put disc with adhesive over the hole in the plastic above the bulb, press down and let cure.
I didn't have to remove the fixture when I fixed mine. Just reached in from the hood.
Check the ground on the rear speaker. 80% of electrical problems are due to faulty grounds.
