My 97 is acting goofy to..........tighten the wire connections on the starter but make sure you disconnect the battery before u do this....and clean and tighten all the grounds.........
if she's killing both alter. and battery than I'd look at short on the wire from alt. to the starter and than from starter to the battery. Also, the bad alternator can discharge the battery thru internal short....
My daughter has a 97 coupe that keeps killing the batteries and alternators. Need suggestions, quick.
Hi, need a little more detail to help on this.
Exactly what is happening, did you replace battery, or test it. Did you check the charging system and measure it. Have you replaced anything and how often.
Many possibilities, but a good place to start is making sure that you have a good load tested battery, and with making sure that the cables are clean and tight to both sides of the battery, and starter, and fuse block. and the connections to the alt are clean and making proper contact. If all that is good, check the connections to the PCM, it is down in the pass side wheelwell, and is accessed by removing the access panel in the well, disconnect the battery before disconnecting and inspecting for cleanliness the connectors going to the PCM, and reinsert them carefully and tightly.
Good Luck

Make sure you have good grounds. Make sure you are not using aftermarket alternators.
