I'm not sure why cars have you running, either high or low beams, but I'd like to have it to where I can run them both at the same time. Much like when you pull back on the light stick. I drive in complete darkness to visit my girlfriends in the back woods of Indiana. I just ordered HID kits for the high and low beams, but being HID they take a bit to charge up. Having the lows stay on the whole time, would keep me from having about a 20 second period of well..not so good lighting when I switch to the highbeams :P
I searched the forums, and there is a link to this fix, but the link is broken. IF anyone knows how to do this, or has a fresh link it would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure, but my factory HIDs on my acura don't have two beams, but a "shade" that gets moved for high-beam. Maybe look into a setup like that if they make one?

I believe the headlights are relay driven. If so, and they are positive triggered, you can half tap the positive trigger wire going to the high beam relay, put a diode in series with the wire with the cathode facing the low beam relay and then tie in to the low beam relay. Then you will have low beams or both. If the relays are negative triggered, do the same thing but on the negative trigger wire and reverse the diode direction.
thanks blownblue, but I think that's something I'd only be able to understand what to do after finding a electricly savy friend to help. I'd be able to figure it out over time, but didn't know if you guys might know of where to go to see a "how 2" with some pics if not, then I guess I'll have to make one for the site incase anyone else wants to do it.

neato, exactly what i'm looking for in the "do it yourself for dumbys" department thanks for finding this for me! bit expensive, but I think i'd rather just get this then mess something up .

thanks again.
By the time you ran around and bought all of the parts and wire it will cost you more than the $50 bucks.
No sense in trying to re-invent the wheel. I have one myself just haven't got around to installing it yet.
If the Vette is anything like my 05 Chevy truck, you can just jump a diode from the low beam relay to the high beam relay in the fuse box and it's a done deal.
well i got my hid's installed and the relay is def something i'm going to have to install. with the highbeams on there is a HUGE black void in the middle where the lows would fill in nicely. for some reason the highs won't come on anymore with the lows when i pull back on the light stick. not sure wtf that's about. but i'm going to purchase the relay right now after this post, and put it on next week. i'll post some pics. maybe a video
So, has anyone use this relay? What happens to your foglights? Do they stay off when highbeams are on or do they go off?
I have it & yes the fogs do turn off with the highs & lows switched on. I have the HID fogs as well, which IMO work extremely well with just your low beams on
