Stock H-pipe verse's X-Pipe, is it worth the cost to change from the stock H-Pipe to an upgrade X-pipe. What are the advantages to a DD? My current exhaust is the Corsa Touring i beleive, not sure but from all the research i have done looks and sounds like the Touring setup.
Any input would greatly be appreciated, Thanks.........................
I bought a used Corsa X-pipe here on the forum. I didn’t feel any big power difference although it’s supposed to be worth a few HP. There is a difference in the sound though. Seems like the pitch of the exhaust is a little lower and I used to have a little light popping on deceleration that is now completely gone. My exhaust set up is a set of JBA shorty headers, the X-Pipe and a set of Ti’s. Not the best set up for power I know but wanted to keep it legal.

Ive experienced mostly the same things...I dont have the same set up (running stock exaust manifolds) only my sound changd to a slightly higher pitch....still gounds great..especially at WOT...but then thats the Ti exaust talking
I have corsa indy exhaust and after adding the corsa x
the idle sound is not loud or burbly anymore, I do not grin as big when im wot with the xpipe. It did contribute to faster time at the drag strip however.
I really liked the sound of my X pipe on the Z. I currently have a set of Xs with 3500 miles on them available as I just went with a LG header and X pipe system...(my car 2003Z only has 5200 total miles) Ping me (PM) as I live in Jacksonville as well, be glad to let you here the X which is still on the car for a few more days...
don't think it will add any appreciable performance gain in your set up. I am also suspect of that single mod doing anything for a quarter mile time. I have had several catback systems. I added the x pipe with my headers and don't think it did anything to the motorboat sound of my former Corsa Indies. I didn't try my stingers before the headers and x pipe, so I can't compare before and after. I've heard that it reduces the popping, and I don't have too much popping, so I suppose that is accurate.
I added one. Got rid of the jingle. Sounds a little higher pitched, just an overall cleaner sound. It's hard to explain. THe car really just needs some LTs.
I have the Corsa Touring exhaust. I can't give you a comparison with and without the x-pipe because I installed the x-pipe when I installed the catbacks. I also have AR Headers. I have had this setup for over a year. To me, this combination is perfect. As far as decel pops, I only get them when I am doing a downshift from ~2000 - 2500 rpms (I have an A4). I still love that sound.
I added a Bassani x-pipe as I hoped it would make my stingers a bit quieter. It did not. I also decided to go with the x-pipe as the stock H-pipe flanges to the mufflers tend to have bad welds that sometimes break while you are driving. I did not want to experience this. I plan to take the car to the track, but I am willing to bet no increase in performance...
