So I started the car today to go for a drive and i noticed soon after that the oil pressure was at 0kpa. I pulled over and checked the oil level and it was where it should be, looked clean and is still at 61% till the next oil change.
I started it up again to drive home and the pressure came back on, but would bounce all over the place as i was driving. When i would slow down the pressure would drop and the go back up again after i started moving.
I checked the pressure when the car was shut off with the key turned on and the sensor read 0kpa agian. I did a search and it said that if it's the sensor it should read off scale high not 0 when turned on but not started.
I plan on buying a a oil pressue gauge tomorrow to be sure before sending it to the shop, but wanted to see if you guys had something similar happen before.
A mechanical oil pressure test is what's neeeded as you already know. The dealer has an adapter that goes between the oil filter and the block. If you have any clattering from the top end, stop driving it immediately.
