The shop that is building an engine for me has asked me a question that I need help with. The engine is going to be dynoed on an engine dyno and he sent me the following question. Any information that you might have would be deeply appreciated.
"Do you know if your engine harness is easily removable so we could tune your ecu on the dyno?"
I guess I should add that the car is a 99 6 speed.
I would think a 'stand alone' harness would be the way to go-you can get them on e-bay.
Try this question in the scan and tune section.
Good luck-Dominic
I think not. I believe the issue is with the fuse box under the hood. The engine harness has several wires that go directly to it, an wires from the front harness and the dash do as well. I'm pretty sure there is no easy to get to connector that would allow you to disconnect the dash and front harness from the fuse box. Then you also have the TAC controller that would have to come out.
Painless makes a couple of LSx wiring harnesses that could be used, be sure to get the drive by wire ones though.
Search for the three wire harness for the LS series engines. I saw them last year at the SEMA show in vegas....they looked very nice and simple. (I cant remember who made them)
