tilt broke- help
On Oyealiz's new c5. The lever is still intact but the mechanism in the column no longer works. The lever moves freely and no longer engages the column to adjust the wheel. Any ideas?

Sounds like the spring is jammed. Have you tried holding in the lever and shaking the steering wheel a bit ?
Hi, had the same problem once, here's what I did to fix it. First I played the lever back and forth while I pulled the wheel up and down, that didn't work at first, so I moved the telescoping wheel in and out a few times while I shook the wheel up and down, and then smacked it on the top and bottom a bit with frustration, as I cursed GM. That seemed to work and haven't had the problem since. Seriously, it's true. Don't be afraid to give it a few good whacks on the top and bottom as you work the lever.
Good Luck
Had same problem, it seems the steering wheel was stuck between slots, like on the top of a gear, if you will. Moved the wheel up and down and lever popped back into service, has worked for over a year now. Good luck.
