Default Corsa touring and headers ?'s

Getting ready to put the cam in my fathers 2000 c5 auto and would like to do headers at the same time. I know he has the touring set-up and had it installed at the factory.

What headers are you guys running?

What if anything did you have to mod?

Thanks,
Chad

I'm running Kooks long tubes and x-pipe. No mods required. Just make sure you specify year model, engine (some guys have changed, etc) and transmission.

Try to find member crosstheline,, I believe he has cam, headers,X pipe and Corsa touring. He runs good too!! I was lined up next to him <first pass for both of us,only mine is stock with corsa touring .I pulled a big hole shot on him,but he blew past me like I was dragging an anchor,,that will happen when I ran a respectable 13.4,,but he runs 11.75. Headers and Corsas work!!

Im was Running:

Vararam

LG's G5X1-E cam
LG Pro Long Tubes
Making 448rwhp, and 432rwtq.

I since have changed to GHL Bullets, and love the increase in sound aross the entire range, and maintanted having NO resonance, and NO drone.

American Racing Headers. Nothing had to be modded.

The Kooks X-pipe really helps scavenging and the sound I would recommend keeping it in the install.

Whichever brand of headers you may be interested in, just contact them to see if they can be installed using the existing factory "H-pipe" center section. Personally, I'm in agreement with mjorgensen and would advise using the X-pipe (which usually include high-flow cats) that is designed for use by the header company, if you can.

Another alternative is that you can give the headers as a gift and just let him cover the cost of the X-pipe. The X-pipe center-section is almost always a good bit cheaper than the headers.

I am unning Kooks with X-pipe and Hi flo cats. It is quite loud at WOT, but the sound is great. I didn't have to mod anything to fit them, but I did take some extra time to be sure the wiring, brake lines and clutch lines were pulled away from the headers. Best to do after pulling the stock exhaust off and before installing the headers. it gets pretty tight.

Kooks does make great headers, but if I had to recommend a set I would definately rec. LG Pro LT's. I haven't heard anything negative about them and like everyone else would recommend purchasing the x-pipe along with the headers. If you search on the forum there alot of good deals going on where with header and x-pipe combos

I looked under his car and he already has a x-pipe ?? It must have been put on at the corsa factory when he had the touring system put on. A 2000 c5 doesn't come with a x-pipe does it?

Yeap its an X pipe, I just found out that corsa has an x-pipe aval. and my father must have had it installed with the touring system. it starts just after the cats. and runs to where the touring system takes over before the axle.

So now I'm wondering if THESE headers (header only option) will work and how much louder it would be with or without cats seems those LGM headers will bolt right up to the exsisting corsa X pipe maybe will even connect to the factory cats before the corsa stuff comes into play. Not sure....

setup in sig. LG's just bolted right up.
Will be a significant increase in volume after headers. Then another significant increase with cam.

I use the AR Headers. They come with an X-pipe. Together they sound great with my Corsa Touring catback system. H/C are next in line.
