What does this plug inside my tail light housing do (pic)?
I was installing my nice tail light seals and came upon this plug/receptacle which were separated. I have an aftermarket DVD player so I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. I haven't reconnected it yet but thought I'd ask to see if someone knows.
My power antenna goes up/down just fine when I turn on the radio so it doesn't seem to be for that. All tail lights/blinkers/ reverse lights work fine also.
The female receptacle (orange) wires seem to run up behind where the antenna is. Male end is circled in green. Any ideas?
This pic is of my farthest passenger side tail lamp hole in the rear fascia.
Great, thanks for the info STL! I wasn't sure what that plug was for but I certainly appreciate your input. I think I'll reconnect it right away although it's interesting that my lights still work.
