Default Problems with Vararam making air bridge too high?

My factory air bridge nevr sat low enough after the vararam install. and i installed a carbon fiber piece yesterday and it sits even higher because it bigger. it rubs on the bottom of the hood. is there a simple fix?

I have seen this happen before, not really any specific thing, you just need to adjust the airbox and inlets, and give it some paitience. Since you added the carbon fiber piece, obviously like you said thats going to make it sit even higher.. This is kind of like when you install a cat-back and have to align the tips..just have to keep messing with it and adjusting it til you can get it just right.

Just thinking, the length of the total intakein your case bit longer with the vararam. This would push up on the air bridge If you can take some length out of the intake up to the point where the vararam clamps to the airbridge, the bridge will no longer be pushed up. One place to take out legth might be the silicon coupling that come with the vararam. Whatever you do measure twice and cut once.

I removed the grommets from the top radiator support to give the bridge more squish room. Contact with the hood is less and has caused me no problems during the five years that I have had the Vararam in place.

I second the cutting of the coupler idea. This is what I did. But just as motogib1 stated. Cut only a small amount at a time and measure carefully. You don't want to cut too much off and not have it long enough to go over the TB. Cut a little bit, test fit it. Cut more if necessary.

If I am following you guys correctly.... .I trimmed the lower portion of the cf airbridge with a dremel tool about 1/4"-3/8" or so and it really helped in dropping the entire unit down to where it fits much better .You can only trim so much and still leave a nice round surface for the MAF

I am all messed up

I believe they're talking about cutting the silicon hose that couples them together, not the air bridge itself.

Ok,well it appears you are correct.

To me decreasing that distance( from the throttle body to the airbridge?) would not directly influence the height as much as actually trimming the front edge of the cf airbridge. That being because the area from the maf to the crown of the airbridge is on a more vertical path, therefore affecting airbridge height more effectively
