Need help
Ok. Got a 98 convertible with standard (no dual zone) a/c. Car is running. A/C button will not activate compressor and does not light up. But, if I rotate the right button over to defogger/floor setting, the a/c compressor comes on and blows cold air. It will stay on from that position to the next two positions to the right of that. When I rotate the button back to the left of the defogger/floor setting, the compressor cuts back off. So, I get no a/c on front facing vents. Only on defogger/floor settings. Any ideas? Possibly a bad controller? Also, no fuses blown.

No codes either and again, it's not the digital dual-zone controller. It is the standard (I assume) controller with the three round control *****...fan switch, temp switch, and vent position. Any other ideas?
