It recently rained where I live and so I decided to have some fun in my car(2000 Targa top Coupe). I took off from a red light with my traction control off and spun my tires in 1st gear shifted to 2nd and thats when it happened. My oil pressure gauge dropped to 0 PSI and then back to 130 PSI. If I drive my car like an old fart it is fine but if just slightly get on it the gauge starts acting up again. Please help all recommendations are welcome I will be bringing it to a friend that has an HP tuner on Monday to get looked at. Oh I have already disconnected the battery to see if I could reset the computer but no dice.
If you turn your key to the on position without turning over the motor; if your oil pressure gauge pegs out at 130 PSI then you have a bad sensor. Don't panic they are known for going bad and there are tons of posts about different methods of replacing bad sensors.
