I'm looking to modify my baby so that I have great off-the-line acceleration. What should I concentrate on to maximize this? I'm not really into top end speed, mainly because I won't be on the track...but I think that a Vette should feel more like one off the line.
I have an A4....it's basically bone stock, except for dual tipped Borla Stinger exhaust.
I also have an A4 and I would say the best thing for off the line acceleration would be gears. Do not no what gears you have now. Has to be either 2.73s or 3.15s performance axle. I went from 2.73s to 3.42s and made quite a difference.
I think you're all right...but what about LT Headers and high flow cats? Will those be good for quicker accel and faster throttle response?
They will help, especially with the "muscle car" type sound, but they really provide more power increase in the mid to higher rpm range. For off the line acceleration, gears are the biggest bang for the buck. Also, if you havent had the car tuned, have that done so they can remove the torque managment feature so the car will have quick snappy shifts.

I love that muscle car sound and that's what i'm looking to get . Gears huh....i'm guessing I should move to atleast 3.42. That's kinda bad for the gas mileage ^_^. Torque management? That's gotta kill me in the rain... =/

3.73 gears, will probably knock about 2-3 MPG off your average, I would guess.
