It's on a 1999 Dual Climate; I can not shut it off by using the off button, and can not change the temp. when I turn the **** it showes the outside temp. Everything else works. I pulled #27 fuse. That did not cure it. Can anyone help?
When you remove Fuse 27 you must wait AT LEAST 60 seconds before re-installing the fuse .... it takes time for the "memory" in the HVAC controller to clear.
Second, check and see if any DTC are set for the HVAC controller. Post the DTC and someon can help you diagnose the problem.
Write down your codes first but then undo the battery and let it sit overnight. That way if the actuators are out of whack this will realign them.
Likely the HVAC module is done, but first the codes and the manual for a bit of reading/troubleshooting....saves money on parts.
I work so much it takes time for me to get back . There are no codes in any area. It is stuck on 73, when its in auto. But you can not change anything when in auto. Take it out of auto everything works but I can not change temp. But in any mode you can not shut it off. I had #27 out 3 or 3 hours but nothing.
If you have no codes, and pulling fuse 27 (or disconnecting the battery) has no effect, then the HVAC head unit sounds like it is FUBAR.
For your 1999 the dual climate control unit is GM part number 16254311 and list price is $500.78 (I never understand GM pricing ..... why not $500.99 ... or just screw it and call it $500.00 ????)
