Default help with intake smooth coupler

I just purchased a smooth intake coupler to replace my stock accordian type. I noticed that there is a small like vacumm line on the driverside of the accordian intake. My smooth coupler does not have a place for the line,,, what do i do with it and does it need to be on when smooth one is in place???????

Many drill/punch a small hole in the smooth coupler to accommodate the oem requirements. Sometimes, it can be moved to the oem airbridge with less problems...

In your case, it's the replacement of the vacuum tube. If you block it off or eliminate it, it might effect the manners of the car (codes, surging, sensors, etc)...

I put an SLP smooth bellows on my 98 and it did not have a hole. Install the smooth bellows then mark where the sensor goes and drill a 1/8 inch hole, plug it in and you're ready to go.

Default service engine message

guys thanks for the help,,, in did exacly what you guys said and all is well, however, im now getting a service engine message,,,, I was getting this message a whiel ago and just reset and no big deal.... so let me recap... i put the new coupler on , I punched a whole with an awl and then pushed the vaccume line through it,,, now it was a challenge to get the line through it,,, maybee its to tight of a fit and the coupler is squeezing the line closed which could be causing the service engine message to come on?????????

Double check all of your clamped connections, wire connections and air pump hose connections you might have removed/replaced during the project. Chances are you have an air leak.
However, since you were getting this previously, you should pull the codes from the DIC and determine exactly what the source is.
FYI, I experienced this myself and it drove me nuts. I found the rigid silicone coupling had a pucker at the bottom of the throttle body. The clamp went on just fine, but the pucker wasn't visible w/o a mirror to see it.
I ended up using a very fine application of lubricant (I used WINDEX) to ease the coupling on to the throttle body. Then I twisted it around 360 degrees to confirm it was no longer puckered. The mirror helped visualize this.
