Purchased a used intake manifold several months ago , opened up the box a couple of days ago and noticed that the plastic tab that holds the MAP sensor was broken off. Is it necessary? If so can I use an epoxy or JB Weld to reattach? I know to many this may sound like a stupid question but, I'm not quite sure.
If just the holding tab is missing I'm sure you could use a zip tie or something to secure the sensor. A dab of silicon gasket maker on the bottom of the sensor might help make it a little more stable as well.

Thanks
That piece is not a "tab". It is open to the intake and it is where you get your vacuum from for your power brakes and A/C. I don't see why you couldn't epoxy or glue it back on, since it doesn't really support any weight. Just be sure to get a good seal so you don't have any leaks.

If its an LS1 intake, feel free to PM me if you want a good one. I have my oem LS1 intake off my 1997 C5 that I don't mind helping a fellow member out with.

I assume he's talking about the latching tab that holds the MAP sensor in place. You can just remove the piece the vacuum hoses and MAP sensor connect to, from the back of the manifold, and send that to him, or he can use the one from his LS1 manifold. 1/4 turn CCW and it will come right out. I had the same problem with one I bought, and just swapped the one from my LS1 intake. You can see the orange O ring that seals that piece to the manifold
