Magnesium wheel color code
I've checked all the archives, and there is nothing definitive. Duplicolor references, etc....
Does anybody know an actual paint code for the factory magnesium wheels? Looking to get some touch-up paint mixed.
Thanks!

If you go with Duplicolor look for
NG GM 482
Light Drift Sand met.

I tried that and it was ok, but had some paint pens mixed up by
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/ using the same info as above.
Was easier to use and used one of their clear coat pens afterwards.

I have bottle of GM touch paint for my wheels, but that is all I could find is a small bottle. The best advice I ever got was to contact a shop that refinishes wheels and ask them. They obviously need more than 1 ounce. I have the paint code somewhere, let me see if I can did it up. GM doesn't offer the cans of it, I had Gene Cully look that up for me.

I have what I believe is the code at home and will try to remember to look this weekend.
If you are refinishing the wheel to be correct, do you have the yellow colored "Magnesuim" stickers? Those were a real big pain to find.
The were applied after the paint dried and clear coated.

If you know the OEM paint code go to this page
http://www.martinsenour-autopaint.com/formula/
If you don't, use this page ..... enter the data requested and specify "Wheel" for "Vehicle Part"
http://www.martinsenour-autopaint.co...car_finder.cfm
The "Accent Code" is the wheel color code.
Have fun.....

Paint Code for C4 Rims
I have a 1992 LT1 (C4) and purchased the (2 Book) Service Manuals when I bought it back in 1993. The Service Manuals are quite helpful. Looks like the Corvette Factory used a lot of Dupont Products for the Wheels - don't know if they still do. I will list all the Required Materials the Service Manual list to do Wheel Refinishing:
1. Dupont 3913S Prep-Sol
2. 3M Scotchbright Pad P/N 07445
3. Dupont Enamel Cleaner 3939S or 3812S solvent
4. Dupont 615S/616S Vari-Prime self-etching primer
5. Dupont 824S/825S Gray Corlar Primer
6. #400 Sandpaper
7. Dupont 9222S Cronar Midcoat Adhesion Promoter
8. Dupont Cronar Base Wheel Color Paint Code C9201 or GM Code WR9839
9. Dupont 1080S URO Clear
If short cuts are desired, I would think the listed Base and Clear Coats are minimum. The primers probably help make color matching better, with the self etch one needed if you sand all the way down to the bare aluminum. The adhesion promoter probably improves toughness for chipping, but no guarantee.
The Service Manual also lists an 11 step procedure for doing the Refinishing. If you own a Corvette, I highly recommend acquisition of the Service Manuals for your Year and Model.
I have a couple of wheels that need some touch up due to some pin head tire changer. I wish I would have taken the time to study them closer when I had the Tires replaced, too late now.
Hope this post helps others.

It was enough to touch up my 4 wheels.
