Anyone Install a Trailer Hitch?
Has anyone had a trailer hitch installed or a DIY install? Thinking about towing a custom made trailer on my C5. How much of a pain in the butt is this going to be? Any pros or cons would be appreciated.

I do have a lift in the garage and have seen some instructions on the I-net, but a consensus of personal feedback is the best info available.
Here is a shot of my Tractor Supply 4x6 trailer and Draw-Tite hitch.
Pulls easy. Easy to install, and solid. At 70mph I can get 23.5 with the Z. That is if I keep my foot out of it... something I have hard time doing.

The install is fairly easy. One person can do it in two or three hours at the most. If you have done it before expect that it can be done quicker. The mufflers have to come off or be unhitched and folded out of the way, but other than that it is fairly straight forward.
Be careful with the muffler hanger bolts at the rear cross memeber. After you take off the muffler you need to put a nut on the two bolts that are hanging down or you could lose them into the frame (don't ask me how I know or about the swear words that ensued until I fished the bracket and bolts back into the right place).
There have been cases where idiots at installation places went at the TI mufflers with a torch to quickly get them out of the way, only to find that they couldn't reweld the titanium... Not an issue if you are DYI, but something you should mention to the installer if you are having it done for you.

Solofast,
Good info, it will be a DIY install. I've got to remember the nuts.
