serpentine belt noisey, squeeks
Hey guys my belt started squeeking 2 days ago. Which one I don't know. So I'll just change both while i'm at it.
My question is does any one know off hand the part #s . I remember reading a post couple weeks back of another cfm who had the same problem and another cfm told him to get " GATORBACK " belts from NAPA ( i think ) .
Guess I should've written them down at the time !

Usually this occurs from a belt with cracks, balancer pulley wobble and needing replacement or the ac tensioner needing replacement to the new model with an improved dust cover.
look at your balancer groves and see if while running you can see if the ribs on the balancer are remaining straight and not causing a "wobble or blur" in the grooves.

I used one of those Gatorback belts....crap. It basically fell apart and caused annoying squealing. I changed the belt for a new one and the sound went away. That was two years ago. By the way, that Gatorback belt lasted me three months!

Like the man said -- harmonic balancer or a/c-idler pulley.
You can keep diagnosing it, or just replace those parts and be done with it.
Replace the belt while you're at it.
I tried wishing it away as well -- it doesn't work.

replace your 60$ ac tensioner and change the belt. Prob about 200 bux if you have NTB do it.
