I am going to be changing out my oil pressure sensor soon and figured while I'm in there I will swap out my intake manifold to an ls6 unit. I have read posts that some people actually shave the bottom of the manifold to clear the ls1 coolant lines. Does anyone have a picture of this as I am debating doing that as opposed to spending money on coolants pipes. I would like to see where and how much is needed to be ground down so I can decide which route to take. I would prefer to keep my coolant lines I just want to make sure its not too much trouble to grind the ls6 down. If you have pics or tips please post them for me. Thanks.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen pics of it done, but the pipe in question is a pretty small diameter, and the amount that would be needed to be removed is also pretty small. I've been thinking about doing it, my problem is that during my current projects by the time I get to putting the intake back on I'm in a hurry to get the Vette back on the street LOL.
I'm under the impression that you don't shave the whole under side of the intake. I was thinking that you just made notches in the ribs to accomidate the pipe. The pipe kind of makes a X under the LS1 intake, so it may take a little effort to figure out how exactly it routes under the intake. But the actual cutting is pretty minor. At least thats the way I was thinking of doing it.
