Ive seen some partial info on this conversion on a few threads but not the complete picture so Im sending this out for informational purposes. I really want to do this conversion to my c5. What do I need to do it? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Simply you need to get c5 stainless steel brake lines and then figure out wheel offsets for clearance mainly for the front, the rest is easy as take one set off and put the other on.

I was told the c5 lines would not work thus why I bought c6 stainless lines when I installed mine. wheels are a problem. I took a simple way out that is ace slick wheels from lapd in c6z06 style. they do not stick out and they clear the calipers fine. I run the ceramic pads as well. my offsets are 53mm upfront and I think 64 out back.
You will have to have wheels larger than 17" to clear the front rotors. Also if you are running stock C5 offset wheels in the front you will need 5/8" spacers to clear the larger calipers. The rear stock wheels will clear the rotors and the calipers. C5 brake lines will work, but you have to grind off a small portion of the banjo fittings to allow the lines to be rotated a little. They go on easily. I changed mine out in less than four hours and that included doing other work at the time.
I have 19" in front and 20" in the back. I can easily add wheel spacers. Anybody know where I could find a good deal on a kit. Thanks to everyone for all the information.
The C5 lines will work fine. Just get the C6 parts along with some new brake fluid and you're good to go. Obviously the correct size/offset wheels go without saying.
a guy on here that works for GM HPVO told me about it. i do know about the pad tapper issues with the C5's, you can do a search for it in the autocross/road racing part of the forum and should pull it up.
you don't HAVE to do it but the brake mounting points on the C6 uprights are thicker than the C5 to fix the flex issue that caused the tapper.
I was under the impression the C5 pad taper issue might be due to the stock floating calipers spreading over time, not due to 6 piston calipers flexing the spindles.
Actually, the tampering issue with the C5 is in the spindle not the floating caliper. During the C5 development at the NurburgRing. Brake pad tapering was an apparent issue. It was discovered that the spindle was not stiff enough to prevent "knock back" as it "flexed" under hard braking, especially with multi-piston fixed calipers. Replacing the C5 spindles with C6 spindles will negate this issue. The C6 spindle is a direct bolt on that is slightly thicker and much stiffer than the C5.
