'01 C5 CD changer options
My 2001 C5 coupe came with the in-dash cd player but not the cd changer option. Well, I got the money for Christmas to install one. Is the Delco Bose my only option that will work properly with the standard Bose dash unit? Or are there others that will work properly? Which units are recommended and will they display properly on the head unit.
Thanks for your help and advice.
I might be interested as well ... anyone ? I know a lot of guys sell their changers on the 'for-sale' sectin and I heard this should plug right in, no problem - especially if you have that CD in the dash already. Hmmm ...
HI guys, I too bought my 01 with the cd option in dash(no changer). I researched for a while and called tons of folks. I could only verify that the delco will fit with no mods needed. It is a true plug and play. The connections are down on the right floor board under the carpet and dash. Just had it installed in the trunk. Looks like the factory option!!!saved a couple hundred bucks by buying form a local chevy dealer and not ordering it with the car...Max :D :D
Where exactly are the connectors under the right passenger floor mat? I found the fuse box, and another box to the left of it but didn't see any harness.
I can't recall exact location but I was there with the installer... we found the connection where you have found the fuse box, The diagram shows it exactly. and the changer comes WITH the Diagram, you have to ORDER a HARNESS, PART NUMBER 12497876, LIST $120. I paid $90. They should have ordered the HARNESS when you ordered the changer. I paid $362.90 for changer and it listed at $499.
