Default Quick question about exhaust/header install

Alright, my FRC has a completely stock exhaust on her right now. I already have heads and cam and didn't know what part of the exhaust to purchase first. I was going to purchase the cat-back first because I wanted a little more rumble, but now am second guessing my decision. My question is if I decided to purchase HEADERS instead, could I bolt them up to my stock x-pipe and stock cat-back or do I need to get a new x-pipe at the same time. I am kind of in a money crunch, so not looking to spend of over $800 or so if I can be convinced that headers is the way to go...I hate having to make decisions argh

thanks

i don't believe you can bolt headers up to the stock x pipe. I just got lg streets and x pipe for 995.00 and am VERY happy with them, don't think you'll get anything much cheaper.

If all you want to do is make more "noise" get the cat back. You can easily pick up something to your liking within your budget.

If you go w/ headers, you'll want long tubes. They will give you more than an increase in volume, you'll make more power in the process but it won't be as loud as if you just got some Bullets or another comparable cat back system especially if you retain your stock cat back w/ the LTs.

There are no LT headers that I know of that will bolt up to to the stock H pipe which is why most LT headers are sold as "systems" which include a x-pipe and cats (or off-road set-up sans the cats). There are few LT systems within your budget (new), at least not the premier systems such as LG, ARH, Kooks, etc... which are easily $1k+

One other thing, to maximize the LT's you'll want or need a tune which will run you another $400-$500.

So..... it looks like the cat-back will be your best bet for now! Good luck.
