I remember that... it's a PITA for sure but manageable w/ the right tools. I shelled out for the SnapOn double swivel . Aside from the price of it, I would highly recommend it.
Believe me while #7 isn't a walk in the park,,over the years there have been some that are a LOT worse. The V8 Monza of the &0s come to mind. You had to pull the motor mount bolt and jack the motor up to get some on the drivers side!!
you should see my wife's xterra! One of the plugs is between the firewall and engine at the very rear of the engine and half way down. You can't even access it from the bottom...... I had to crawl onto the engine and basically rip my forearm apart. CRAZY! But yes I hated #7 also seemed really retarded the way it was designed but o-well I seen worse on jets in the air force.
Try it on an F-body......then see if you ever complain about plugs again.
With the right tools, everything can be made easy.
My 1994 LT1 Camaro Z28 was MUCH worse than my 97 C5 LS1. The firewall hangs way over the top of the motor on the Camaro and made any rear of engine access almost impossible. It's all about the right tools and patience. I found a few beers usually increase my patience level enough to get it done
