Will stock 2004 Zo6 exhaust manifolds bolt on my 1998 coupe or will I have to make changes on my stock exhaust and is there a diffrence between the two manifolds.

If you still have the AIR system if memory serves me right the fitting on the passenger side will be on the wrong primary.

Why are you wanting to swap them?

Beside the above statement it is said the angle of the attaching point to the manifold is different as well. I do not know if that is a fact but it is something to look into.

I was told that there is a big diffrence between the two that the zo6 manifold flowed a lot better an that it was more like a stock header in its design. they look that way from what I can see.

No, there is no real performance to be had by swapping them in, you would be dissapointed after you did all the work to install them and gained nothing i am afraid.

There's no difference between Z06 and same year coupe exhaust manifolds. One year, they did change from sand cast to something or other, but there was no performance improvement, just a manufacturing/cost one.

Yes and No

Yes - they will bolt to the heads

No - they wont bolt at the lower end because of the different downpipes and also the air fittings on top will be on the wrong position on one side.

If you get all the parts for free and you are doing the labor it might be worth it, if not forget it.

My two cents...

just look for a set of shorties here in the forum. I found mine here really cheap and had them coated.

Look at the restrictive design of the factory exhausts you have right now (lower picture) compared with the shorties. The Z06 and newer regular C5 set-up is pretty close in design with a shorty.

I'll look for a pic and post it here for you.
