P1111 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage



Where to start the trouble shooting?

i would start with the iat sensor myself. maybe that's just me

I guess the way i should rephrase it.....is this a common sensor to go out? Anyone pull it and clean it or just replace

This is a $15 part, you could have changed it by now..........

The wiring to these sensors is the problem more often than the sensor itself. If you friend has done any work around the IAT sensor it's possible that the wires at the connector may have broken which would lead to the intermittent condition being reported.

Remove the sensor and check the 2 wires closely near the connector. I'll bet that's the source of your problem.

Remove what exactly without knowing the year? Since you don't know the year, you don't know if it's in the MAF or not.............
