I recently changed out my ls1 intake for the ls6...all went well but have a question:The air tube really is a pain in the butt ,is there away of removing this and not suffering from emission related concerns ie: dic codes? I had to do the typical air tube conversion when I installed my lg headers and for side clearance issues,it would be nice not to have to look and deal with this air tube near my headers. Any info on this...thanx again!
I can give yo some info, If you remove the hoses and, or air pump
you will have to have the air pump codes turned off. The air pump is not
just used for start up emission controls, but to also test the cats and
O2 sensors. So turning off the air pump codes will keep codes away that
that cause you to fail an emission test. The other thing that maybe an
issue for emission testing is the System Test Menu that shows upon an emission test that says pass, fail, not complete, or not supported
for certain, if you disable the air pump I believe it will put the O2 test status at not complete, depending on how may systems are at "not
completed" can cause you to fail.
