I have this what appears to be a dryer in my A/C line. It is on my 2000 FRC right behind the valve cover on the passenger side. I looked on my 99 coupe and it doesnt have one on it. I need O rings for it but cant find them. Now Im thinking it isnt stock. http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1216782681

I don't think it's a dryer. It appears to be just a connector in the aluminum tubing. My 2001 doesn't have this either. The dryer dessicant is housed within the accumulator body.
You can see the accumulator, which is a vertical can, located under the windshield cowling just behind the battery.
I'll look in the parts list again, and post if I find it there.
Your a life saver Thanks again for the lookup. The way it looks is when the motor was done maybe they damaged the line and had to splice it. I removed it to replace the O rings and it is not hollow that is why I thought it was some kind of dryer or something.
Well, it's not shown in the 97-02 parts list that I have. It may be some sort of an impulse dampener or vibration snubber that was factory installed as a prototype, but didn't make it into full production. This isn't the first time things like that have shown up in Corvettes.
I wouldn't have a problem using a type buna-n rubber o-ring in there from Ace hardware.
Looks to me like an inline filter that was likely installed after a previous compressor failure. We install them at our shop whenever there is evidence of metal contamination, after flushing of course! It's pretty common practice.
