Default Exhaust Volume / Sound

I know this has probably been asked and discussed before, but here goes.

I currently have Borla Stingers on the car and it sounds fantastic ! I'll be installing some LT headers w/hi-flow cats and x-pipe and I have the strangest feeling...

Will this be to loud ?

Should I look into a set of Ti's ?

Basically what I'm trying to get to is... Would a header system and Ti's be to quiet or is this a good combo ?

Thanks in advance for your opinions on this.

I have Corsa Tourings and they sounded great. Not much louder than stock, but a slight mor erumble to it. When i put the Kooks with X-pipe and Hi flo cats on, it is a little louder at idle, but really loud at WOT. I am considering a set of Ti's myslef, but I love the sound of it..I just wish it wasn't quite so loud.

They aren't that hard to change, so i would leave it as is and if you don't like it then switch the exhaust out.

I have the same exhaust, just no cats, and it is, without a doubt, louder than your neighbors will like! lol . Your cat/conv might make it a little quieter, though. It sounds awesome when you stomp the gas pedal!(kinda like a crotch-rocket bike)

I had stingers with no cats and the drone was pretty bad, with high flow cats the drone was almost non-existant at interstate cruising speeds.

Kind of subjective...don't you think? What's too loud for one, is music to another....unless you are speaking to what will get you citied.

I’m running LG streets with cats and Ti’s. For me it’s a perfect combo, nice and quiet at low RPM but really wake up at half to WOT with no drone at any speed on the hwy. My last speeding ticket was pulling onto the hwy on a long on ramp in 3rd at WOT, CHP said he didn’t see me but heard the car from his hiding spot a ¼ mile back. He was nice kid, said I was pulling on him at 95+ before I slowed down to flow of traffic, complemented me on the car then wrote me up for 79mph in a 65.

Well yes and no...

I have Borlas w/stock cats and h-pipe on the Vette now and what I consider music to my ears, my wife thinks is loud. 1st thru 4th gear sound is just freakin AWSOME to me. Highway speed is quite nice with more road noise than exhaust. Personally I'm thinking it's going to be much louder than it is now.

In all honesty, I'd like to have the same sound I have now, only after I have the headers on the car.

Nice !!

You say nice and quiet at low RPMS, is it really quiet ? I'd like to sound louder than stock, if that make any sense...

Would ou happen to have any sound clips ?

Sorry no sound clips.
By nice and quiet at low RPM I mean it sounds like a stock set up at <2500 RPM, from there the ti's just sound better and better. IMHO Ti's are a great bang for the buck, they breathe just as well as any $1000+ cat back system, are made from Titanium so they will never rust and are lighter then any S.S system. The best part is you can get them from a fourm member for $350 - $450. Just make sure if you buy used Ti's they were not cut durring removal.

I wish I'd kept mine. With my present setup, I had to add cats to quiet it down enough to stand. Still quite loud, and kind of high pitched, but sweet. Oddly enough, I believe the H/C/I mod increased the sound level more than adding headers to my first aftermarket catback.(two tip stingers) I've since tried Magnaflows, and now Corsa Pace Car.
