Default C1221 LF wheel speed sensor and cables...

Usually I run a quick forum search and find lots of good info, but I want to make sure that I'm heading down the right track on this one as i've invested some time and am still having some problems. I have a 2001 Z06 with 49K miles. Normal summer driving no racing etc.

A couple of weeks ago I had the service TC ABS and stability lights came on, so I read the codes (I don't remember exactly what they were but it was the LF and LR speed sensors). Put the car on a lift and checked all the wheel speed sensors by unplugging the clip at the wheel bearing and using a multi-meter and spinning the wheels while checking for AC voltage on the multi-meter from the speed sensor. LR wheel was zero all others were fine. Replaced the LR wheel bearing and speed sensor. Problem did not go away, and the LF sensor was still bad with the following code C1232C (this was current not "H" when checking). Figured that the LF wheel speed sensor was also bad, so replaced LF wheel bearing. Problem still did not go away. Here are the codes now:

Driving about 50ft less than 15MPH C1221H only. Clear code and drive around at 55 MPH for about 20 min and get the following codes: C1221H, C1232H, C1283H.

So I'm thinking that it might be the interconnecting cables that went bad (the cable that connects from the wheel speed to under the suspension is my first guess). Should I try to swap the LF and RF cables and see if that changes the problem? I don't think it is the steering position sensor, but I've been wrong before (see above).

Any ideas or similar experiences would be great.

I had something similar a while ago on my 98, was told that the short wiring harness from the frame area out to the sensor was a frequent culprit, and I should replace it. I took it off, cleaned the contacts out on all connectors, and the problem went away for 2 years or so. It's come back briefly a few times recently, so I probably should do it again, or just replace the cable.

OK I'll give that a try, it should be easy to do at least. Thanks for the help.
