I have an 99 Vette w/A4 w/ the following mods;
3.73 rearend, Dyntech LT's, TI exhaust, LS6 Intake, Haltech, and a Yank SS3600. Looking at heads, probably will go with TSP 5.3L.
What cam should I go with? LG G5X3, EG Whiplash, Lingenfelter GTII, MS3 or 4, or TSP XS?
Car will be considered a DD, so driveability is important. Its all in the tune, right? That's what I keep hearing. LOL. My goal is to have around 420-450 at the rear wheels.

TIA,
MJ

I have an MS4 that I'm selling. It was in my car for 500miles. Driveability wasn't an issue once it was tuned, but to be fair I had a Magnuson supercharger that has great low end boost and might have helped with the low end pull. I could pull with no bucking at 1krpm. I changed to a Centrifugal supercharger and decided to try a different cam. The lower LSA's will give a lopey idle, but will typically sacrifice some low rpm driveability. Something with a 113 or 114 LSA should give you a better balance between performance and driveability.

We have identical setups. I'm running the G5X3 112 lsa and really like the cam. The MS4 is an awesome cam as well and I think you'll be happy with either. I wouldn't worry about low end power loss since you have 3:73's and 3600 stall. Also, the lower LSA (111or 112lsa) will bring the power lower in the RPM band.

The heads will be the limiting factor. A good set of AFRs or Trickflows will definitely get you the HP you are looking for with out going too aggressive on the cam.

Having said that, the AFRs combined with the FAST and the G5x3 typically yield 420-430 rwhp. the big still is going to be a little bit of a negative as far as power numbers are concerned, but its a proven killer combo.

Let me know if I can help.

Louis

LGMs cams are awesome and we have installed them for several customers in the past.

We also carry our own line of EnglandGreen signature cams as well.

As the original poster already said - it's all in the tune.
