steering lock issue

steering lock issue
I know there is a topic about this pretty much covering all areas, but I feel that maybe asking will help me a little more. Ok my 00 6spd had a thing saying pull key wait 10 seconds and also says service steering col lock. I had the steering col replaced and pulled the fuse 23 and 25. after that we replaced the bcm and its saying the same thing. Of course it dies when you try and drive it as usual. but one thing is that the steering col lock don't come on at all. You can turn the wheels with the car off even. Can any one help and sorry for the repost

You need to know if any recalls have been performed on your car.
Since the wheel does not lock, you must have either the GM Harness K installed or an aftermarket column lock bypass relay. Can you hear the column lock actuator cycle when you turn on the key, or is it silent?
Either way, if the relay has failed, you will get a column lock message.
Could be a security problem, but I would check to see what relay is under the steering column that connects to the actuator first.
