Default Air pump disconnect questions

I am thinking of disconnecting my air pump. I am doing a supercharger install and the kit requires a relocation of the air pump to a difficult to install location. For now I just want to remove it, plug the hose and vacuum line, and have my tuner modify the PCM to delete it. I don't want to remove the rest of the lines for now. I think I can do this without any issues, correct?

With regards to the vacuum line, is plugging it the right thing to do? I understand that it is attached to the gas vacuum canister and AC. Is it required to evacuate the gas vapors in the canister?

What type of supercharger are you installing? Most AIR pumps I've seen get relocated to the left front under the headlight. Relocation was a piece of cake with the supplied bracket from A&A.

Plugging the large hose coming off the drivers side manifold area is fine. T 2 the air valves will hold closed so no exhaust gases will back flow anyway or at least shouldn't. Not sure if plugging the small little vacuum hose that goes to the air pumps check valve will harm anything if its not hooked up to a vacuum source but I doubt it since the air pump is only on for a 2 mins or so when cold anyway. Just finished my s/c install and there is no air pump as well an all is fine with them plugged. All the air pump is doing is helping cats heat up when cold started.

What about the flanges on the headers? I eventually want to get mine taken off and welded but for the time being I was thinking about using a peice of header or head gasket between the hose fitting and the flange to block the hole. For some reason I feel safer doing that then just plugging the hose closer to the pump... thoughts?

If your 2 air valves in the lines work the way they are suppose to they hold shut with exhaust gases pushing on them and will not leak past into the open header connection cept for a split second on start up maybe..

You just gotta go in and start looking. They sells vacuum cap plugs in all different sizes. Just get one that slightly larger for a tight fit over the hose or you can go smaller and jam it inside the hose. Im my younger days id use golf tees for small hoses and solid alum pipe plugs. Lokk aroundyour garage you'd be surprised what you can find to plug them hoses up with that look ok. I used a carrot carrot once for a fuel return line leak...LOL

yank it all out and throw it in the trash. I've been running no AIR pump for a while and just recently, when I installed my vararam, I took out the pump and trashed it.
Blocked the hose w/ a small bolt. Made simple block off plates for the headers. w/ no tubing around the engine, its easier for replacing plugs. And looks better

Nice setup!!

ya thats the plan, i've heard of those flanges breaking off due to weird preasures.. i may just have those flanges removed and welded over, nice and clean.

then rip out all the houses, pump and junk

no need to heat up an offroad x pipe
