Recently I took a road trip and ended up in some serious rains. Long story short, the wipers worked well, but will not turn OFF now. I had a couple issues prior to the trip with the wipers just starting on their own even when they were turned off. Seriously lame! We had to pull the fuse to get them to stop. I was told that it may be a short in the wiper handle itself, but has anyone had this happen to them before?
I to fell prey to the intermittent blinkers and hazard light issues, and thought possibly this was related, but it doesn't seem to be.
Hi Mickey - I have found almost all wiper problems in C5's start with the motor sitting in water that should have drained out of the plenum below the motor but the drains are clogged with compost. Reach in under your motor and clean out the three valves. (Udders)! Clean these often. As far as your current problem may have to replace the motor and circuit board.

I had the same issues and it required the replacement of of a wiper motor. It can be a expensive repair but if you have some tools and a desire to a DIY repair .....Go for it Multiple threads that give lots of infor on this repair

I had the issue. The wiper motor was submerged or at least staying wet because the drain in the wiper motor area was clogged with leaves. I would bet $20 that is the deal with yours. Check that nipple drain under the windshield cowl before you go spending money.

Mine did the same thing. Udders filled with crud. Clean them out (some on passenger side too). My wiper motor never fully recovered. It went from going on even when switched off to drying out and working while switched on but never fully retracting. I ended up finding one on ebay from a wrecked Z06 for like 50 bucks. Now I can tell people my car has a Z06 motor and I'm not lying. By the way they are easy to install, not to easy to get indexed correctly. Good luck.

You need to replace your wiper motor. You should clean your udders and maybe even cut out the bottom of them to help stop this from happening again. It's not too hard; this is how I did mine:
My problem was wipers would not park, I followed tro. shooting process
in factory manual which started with the wiper switch and connector removing console, trim around radio, and panel under steering wheel to gain access to the connector. I found it very difficult to work and see/test connections in this area.
However my problem was the motor cover ($73 from the Last Detail), that just went bad, no water problems with udders.
FYI
Heed others advice and note wiper position and where short arm on motor is in relation to wiper hardware.
I had the same problem. I cleaned out my udders and disassembled the wiper motor/circuit board. I used compressed air and cleaned the circuit board and let it air dry over night. I reassembled everything and I have over 3 years of trouble free service. Try this before buying a new motor/circuit board.
