I run one with a hood seal. It sits about the same level as the stock exhaust but the filters are exposed and outboard. Since the shroud isn't cut, I'm not really concerned. I do have the Z06 screens, though. I have run it in a pouring rain with no problems.
The trick on any C5, even with stock intake, is to stay away from puddles - even the owner's manual warns about this. It's the bottom breathers that I decided against for this reason but almost anything breathes better than stock. The Twinflow has a nice growl to it.
I have it too... You will feel the HP gains the first time driving with it! No cutting the fan shroud and it installs in about 30-40 mins. No problems in the rain and it looks cool when you pop the hood.
I chose the RMTwin because I can go back to stock in 30mins if I have to and no alterations were made to the car! :yesnod:

Re: RM Twinflow (darkmercury)
Likewise with the Donaldson. No cutting and can go back to stock if necessary. :yesnod:

I have it and like it you can feel the difference, water shouldn't really be a concern...it looks cool but i would recommend the cold air screens with it

The Donaldson Blackwing is less expensive and works great. Install is easy and it 'hang's higher than the twin flow, but, I would worry about water on either unless you 'swim' the Vette:)
Personally, I switched from the Twin-flow to the Vortex and noticed a great improvement.
I had the twin flow on my 99 coupe and thought it was well made and made a SOTP difference. Switched to the Halltech TRIC and was very impressed by the gain of the TRIC over the twinflow.

P.S. Here's a pic of my motor with the Twin Flow installed. This pic is a little outdated as it doesn't show my new DYI custom painted fuel rail covers ;)
