Horn Problems
A while back I was in Sobey's when the attendant came on the PA system and said would the owner of the 2000 Corvette Coupe please turn your horn off as it was bothering the shoppers. The horn finally stopped, I don't know how, I didn't do anything. Anyways, I checked the fuse box in the engine compartment and found the fuse (#11) had blown, so I replaced it. It works, but now my horn sounds so weak, almost like only one horn is working. Anyone else have any problems with their horn? HELP!!!!!
I'm not sure, but I think I hit some high water that got into one of the horns and shorted it out. I went to honk the horn and nothing. The fuses was blown. I replaced the fuse and just as you described: Weak.
There are two horns located under the passenger side headlight assembly. One is a high note horn, the other is a low note horn. You can get to them from the top if you remove the headlight assembly, or you can just pull the car on ramps and remove the lower plastic cover and get to them from there.
Instead of trying to figure out which horn blew, I just bought a horn replacement kit from O'Reilly's Auto Parts. The electrical connection is slightly different, so I just tapped off of the horn wiring harness and taped up the exposed ends that connect to the GM horns. Total cost was less than $25. Physically, it was a simple bolt-in mod.

The new horns are a whole lot louder, too.
I wonder why your horns were going off in the first place?!?! Stuck switch/relay?
