Re: Bilstein Installation - How many hours? (ElDiablo)
I did it in my garage in about 2.5 with hand tools. However, it would only take about 1.5 now that I know what I am doing. If you go over to 2phast.com I think he has a DIY how to install on them.
Re: Bilstein Installation - How many hours? (Ha-Ha)
I think it takes about 2 hours if you do it without a lift, If you are lowering your car you will want to reverse the rear upper frame brackets, this gives the shocks about an inch more travel.... works well.
Re: Bilstein Installation - How many hours? (Ha-Ha)
I installed mine 1 year ago today. It took me from about 8 hours but that included a series of mis-steps that ate up a bunch of time. I also had to run to Sears to get a hacksaw and a few allen wrenches.
1st mistake not having an allen wrench that fit the top of the Bilsteins on the front passenger side.
2nd mistake putting the rubber grommet on the front right incorrectly.
3rd mistake not installing the little spacer between the nut and washer on the top of 1 of the rear shocks. I suppose the real mistake here was not reading the instructions that came with the rear shocks.
All in all, I had to take the front left off two additional times and the left rear off 1 additional time.
Had I paid attention prior to jumping in it would have taken 3-4 hours.

About 2 hours in my garage :smash: It seemed that most of the time was jacking the car up and removing the wheels.
I cut the bump stop in half since my car is so low :D
