Default A/C Reindexing ?'s

I had the typical prob of hot air driver side- cold air pass. Filled up the freon- it was low. Fixed it for a couple of months. Recently had to disconnect the batt chasing another unrelated electrical gremlin, and when I reconnected everything- hot air driver- cold pass. It eventually (after appx 10 min) got better, but is still colder on pass side. Freon level checks out. But she threw the Left actuator fault, and Left actuator out of range- codes. Does this mean I need to reindex? If so how hard is that to do? Thanks to all in advance.

John, here's a link to a DIY with pics. Have you tried pulling the #27 fuse in the pass footwell? Pull it and leave it out for at least 60 seconds. That will make the HVAC controller reset and recalibrate the actuators. If you've already done that, then you may need to try the procedure below, if the plastic gears in the actuator are not broken.
Good luck.

HI:

Make sure you do not have 2 problems that look like one. A/C compressors are known to crack in the rear lower mounting location and leak refrigerant. You may want to check this.

If your actuators are moving correctly and this can be verified by looking. Also looking inside the actuators and you still have a code. You do not need to change the head unit. You can just live with the code and the system will work perfect. If it bothers you then change the head unit to a newer one or a new replacement.

Hey greg. No I pulled the relay under the hood and the fuse, but not the one in the pass footwell. Ill give it a shot when it does it again. Thanks

Chris, I can live with the code, its this TX heat I cant take. AC is a must. Where do I look to see the actuator without pulling the dash? And has anyone taken pics of the compressor cracking so I know what to look for?

Thanks
