The frame savers that I've heard people talking about - are they designed for the front undercarrriage, the ones that always get scraped when you go over those very curvy speed bumps or the long parking blocks that stop the car when you park?
Who has the lowest prices on these and how many hours can be allocated for someone to install (he'll be lowering the car at the same time.)
Front undercarriage, for speed bumps, driveways etc. If they charge more than an hour you are getting ripped off. I think A&A is the only guy selling them, he has a good special that ends today on them. I am making my own as we speak. Total cost for mine. $12 dollars canadian. :D
mid america corvette sells some frame savers that do not have the wheel , they are 1/4 inch steel plate bent to the same shape as the skidplate, it is a bolted on, but I opted to welded mine on, I then ground the welds smooth, it looks factor. in the finished state. i never liked the little wheel style. j.v. :flag

Wouldn't the wheels rolling on the ground sound better than 1/4 inch steel plate scraping??
I have them also. I drilled the hole, installed them, did not weld. Took me about 20-30 minutes start to finish. They are barely noticable. I would do it again.
I can't see mine at all. Remember, it is all black under there- so unless someone is shining a spotlight under your car. Also, if you lower your car, you have to lay on the ground to see them
No more scraping noise for me! My next vette, I'll buy them first thing so they don't get all scratched.
Ha Ha,
For less than $10 bucks you can build your own. I bought some wheels, grade 8 bolts and a lock nuts from HQ. Installed them in the same area of the savers that are shown above, only difference is that my "custom spoiler rollers" don't have the bracket around the wheel and my wheels are cast vice rubber, but I don't use them for shock absorbers, just to get over the bumps, and the grade 8 bolts hold up very well.
I can get you some pics if you'd like, but it will take a bit.

Thanks for the tip. You don't have to knock yourself out for pics - I appreciate it though.
