Question i have a 99 the battery went dead i put a new battery in ,no problems. After the battery change every thing seems to work fine except for the AC one time i start the car it will blow cold air then all of a sudden start blowing hot air or some time never blows cold air the AC worked fine before the battery change. Is this due to the battery change or just the AC acting up on its own ?
The A/C-heat controls are in the "memory" as is the seat position and radio. Set everything where you want it and hold down the memory button. See if that cures it.
Hi, if I understand you properly you are saying that even with the ac set to a cold temp you are not getting the cold air consistently after the battery change. I assume you have the dual zone auto system. There was an issue with the early c5's that when you lost power or changed the battery the actuator motors could loose there calibration. This didn't always happen, but could on the early years. they changed the circuits on the control head post 2001 to deal with the problem. A actuator recalibration may solve your problem.
Good Luck

Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:
Turn OFF the ignition.
Remove the battery positive voltage circuit fuse of the HVAC Control Module. FUSE#27 In the ip fuse block under the pass floor.
Important
The module memory will not clear if the battery positive voltage circuit fuse is installed in less than 60 seconds.
