Default RPM singal wire?

Guys, I'm just curious where the easiest place is to pick up an RPM signal for my wideband. Thanks!

Can't recall the specific details, but there is a white wire that gets tapped into under the driver's side dash that a lot of guys are using for their shift light rpm trigger signals. I think it leads to the DIC . Maybe you need something more convenient on the engine side of the firewall though.
Try a search or maybe someone else can jump in to help.

Thanks. Either side of the firewall works for me, but driver side is better. Search isint working well for me..

quote from Robert "
The factory tachometer output can be found on the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) found in the passenger tire well. The PCM has two 80 pin connectors, with the one closest to the firewall being called the "Blue" connector by GM. The other connector is called the "Red" connector. These connectors have a plastic hold down that snaps off, be careful.'

Darn search function still having hiccups after the recent upgrade.

PM Z06-JIM. He had a thread with pics awhile back on his shift light install.

It's pin 10 (white wire) on the pcm. You can also pick it up on the coil pack connector. Hit up Beer99c5 for that pic, I don't have it with me.
Here's a pic of the pcm. The Z28 pictured is the same, just mounted sideways. Now, why is it you need a RPM pick up for a wideband?
