Code 58 SDM - no communication
I replaced my steering wheel and now a new code to deal with - 58 SDM. I have been told this may mean that "I let the smoke out of the airbag" when I removed the steering. I do not get any messages on the dash in reference to airbag problems. Could this come from a loose wire at the airbag? Any suggestions on how to fix without taking the car to the dealership?

There are two wires red and black. Did you follow the GM Manual when you disconnected.
Did you not put the fuse back in the fuse box under the passenger footwell ?
