My car (2001 Coupe) recently started leaking air on the passenger side when I am above 70mph. It gets worse as speeds increase. This is with my glass top. I have Zero wind noise when I swap to my painted top. Does the weather strip go bad on these tops? Do I have to repalce it or can it be adjusted? I prefer not to take it to the dealer. :smash: Thanks!
Hmmm, My 99 does the same thing at the A'pillar area. I just turn up the stereo or stand on the gas to drowned out the noise. Think there was a TSB for wind noise by the B'pillar on the coupes.
See ya,
I did a couple things on my coupe to improve wind noise.
You can check them out on my "Corvette Site" at http://www.johndennington.com under "How To's" then:
"Window Blow-out clip adjustment" and
"Window Tip in adjustment".

Thanks, I will bookmark the site for reference. I noticed that you adjusted the clip on the targa top from the back end (end closer to the rear of the car) of it. My wind noise is coming from the front part of the top. When I put on my painted top, the noise goes away. I guess this means I DON'T have to do the window adjustment and that my problem is coming from the top itself? I'm going to look at the top tonite and see what can be done. :)
Rolio,
I have the same problem with my glass top. I used it before and never have this problem until a few weeks ago when I swapped the top. Let me know if you know how to fix it. Thanks

Well my brothers car (2001 coupe) also has the nasty wind leak on the passengers side. We just tried the window adjustment per JohnGlenn's instructions on his site (good info John). We didn't adjust it too much but it seems to be working. It is too cold outside so we will try it again at a later date. I think a little more adjustment and it will be fine.
This sounds simple but I know of one person who sold his coupe because of an intermittant wind noise and the only problem was that sometimes he got the top weatherstrip at the back tucked in wrong and sometimes he got it right. When I showed him on mine, he ordered another!
