Auto Trans

I've got a Y2K C5. When I jump on it at about 40 MPH, the engine hesitates and races about 1sec before going into passing gear. Is this normal? Is it worth taking into dealer for?

It sounds like a normal lag between shifts, as long as not too excessive I wouldn't worry about it.

Look out the rear window. If you see 2 black strips on the road you found your problem. The last several weeks my car has been turning the tires hitting second. It just seems to run better every week.

Do you have the stock air intake (filter and air box)? My 98 A4 had a little bit of lag with the stock air box. :)
