I just installed a New Blackwing intake..have a question do the Blackwings come pre-oiled when new or do I have to oil it before intallation? And once finished and battery reconnected...how long/far do I drive it for computer to readjust for the new intake? Any certain speeds or all speeds? Thanks....Kinda new at this sorry!

Just put one in the other day also. Didn't disconnect the battery at all. No problems. Also, I believe it is already pre-oiled (as most filters are). Otherwise, the company that sold it to us would've been pushing the cleaning kit on us!
Great Thanks....Just took it for a ride and runs Great...no problems....all newly painted parts put back on the engine as well...Thanks

They are pre-oiled. The computer will relearn the new air flow in about 50 miles of driving. Vary the driving from stop and go traffic around town to steady highway to a few quick starts with heavy acceleration. Don't need to drive the 50 all at once but thats about the time/distance it will take.
It's a synthetic media (unlike cotton gauze), so use the recommended oil from SLP when it comes time to clean it. You can clean it with the "kit" product or diluted SIMPLE GREEN.
I believe SLP is now using S&B FILTERS (CA) as their source for their cleaning kits (approx. $15.95).
