Launch RPM with Drag Radials?
Are you just starting out or have you been running at the strip for awhile?
If you are just starting out try launching at around 2500-3000 RPM and work your way up.
You can launch at higher RPM's, just be aware that you could eat your clutch or worse if you are not careful.
Good Luck and have fun!

So much depends on the track and the amount of preperation they do.
After fighting with this question all last year, I have decided that I have to slip the clutch just enought to keep the tires from spinning without "eating the clutch" as noted above. Once the tires spin, your 60 ft time is in the toilet.
I start around 2000 rpm and work up according to the traction available. The ideal launch is above 3200 because that's where the power is.
My perspective is limited to 16 runs I have on BFG DR (315.35.17) mounted on 12" wide wheels, after running on stock tires the rest of the 2001 season
Two snap shots:
One day at a well prepped track (Cecil County Dragway) my best launches were 4000-4300; any lower rpm and the car bogged.
One day at a poorly prepped track (Capitol Raceway) the surface would hold a 3600-3900 launch rpm, producing the last four 60' of the year: 1.82, 1.82, 1.79, 1.70.
I think the 12" wheels help. And of course the BFG need to be properly heated. I also learned that those tires will take more throttle quicker once they initially hook. That makes for an improvement in the 330' as well.

Enter COMPETITIVE DRIVING mode.
Back into the water; spin the rears just enough to make one revolution.
Pull forward out of the water.
Engage 2d gear, drop the clutch and spin the tires to about 5000 rpm.
When the tires grab again and the car roars forward, the tires are properly heated.
No need to count seconds or to produce billowing clouds of smoke.
Perhaps someone will be kind enough to speak up on heating Nittos and ET-Streets

I've experimented with different lengths on the burnouts, and the more you burn the Nittos the better.
I've launched as low as 2800RPM and as high as 4.5K.
Depending on the track surface my 60's were between 1.89 and 1.73.
As said above...you spin and the 60' goes right to hell!
