Vibration Damper questions
I replaced my alternator and decided to figure out where the family of crickets is hiding under my hood. I replaced the top belt and have ordered new tensioner pullys. I noticed my Vibration Dampner has a very slight wobble to it. I searched the forum and found that it is a must fix situation and probably the cause of my chirping squeaking sounds. I found a replacement on GM Parts Direct "vibration damper" for $102.47. I wanted to clarify with someone that knows, there is no pulley and the belt grooves are built into the damper? I also read that I have to remove the steering rack to replace it, can someone that has done this job give me a heads up on what I am going to get into with this?

replace your ac idler pulley under the ac tensioner pulley. If the balancer groves are running straight you probably do not need to replace it. Just when the groves look like they are shaking a bit.

If you asked for an ac tensioner you would be given the wrong stuff
