Default 2004 Battery Size?

I have an 04 CE Vert and the battery has just gone bad.

I want an Optima Red Top and I am having trouble finding one. Most of the application guides don't list a replacement.

What is the right size?

Will the 90* top post battery cables work with the new battery?

If the cables will not work, what modification is required?

I used the OPTIMA battery that COSTCO sells for my '04. It's applicable for top mount or side mount. The only issue was that the battery terminals have to be angled slightly. The cables are long enough.
I've been using OPTIMA batteries since before they were even available to the general public. I've never had one fail. I have them in every vehicle we have right now, except a new Silverado. When the GM battery fails in that, it will get a red top OPTIMA.

hotwheels57,
Thank you for the response! Something helpful is what I was looking for!

What group size is that battery? 25? 34? 86? Sam's club has them right now at $139 and a $25 mail in rebate and I just so happen to need it...

Mine is a group 75/35 which fits into the C5/Z06 tray with room to spare. The 75/35 is universal top/side mount, so other OPTIMA batteries may fit as well. The oem hold down can still be used.
I'm not sure if COSTCO still sells that group battery. I bought mine in June '06.
Depending on your needs and measurements, you might be able to fit other OPTIMA batteries into the tray and still use the oem hold down or available adapters.
I keep my Z16 on a BATTERY TENDER when the car isn't being driven, so it's always fully charged.
I just went to the OPTIMA website and checked for your application.
They recommend this...

Group Number: 25 (9025-160)
RedTop®; Battery; Group 25; Cold Crank Amps 720; Crank Amps 910; Reserve Capacity 90; Ampere Hour 44; Top Terminal; L-9 5/16 in.; W-6 13/16 in.; H-7 5/8 in.; BOXED;

Yep I just saw that size on the website as well... Too bad nobody in town stocks that size, Sam's says they can order it but it will be two weeks before we see it.

Well, I got the stealership to warranty the battery and that leaves me with a 7yr AC Delco with a 5yr free replacement. All for $80. I am pretty happy!
